Lab Process is a quarter course that is designed to supplement, reinforce, and review science concepts taught throughout the middle school science program by direct application of the scientific process. The course requires students to Think, Record, and Reflect as a Scientist, embracing the Nature of Science. Classes are 90-minutes long, meeting every other day allowing students to maximize time engaged in experiments, data analysis, and the development of scientific thinking. Additionally, students develop the foundational skills necessary in high school level science courses such as keeping a scientific notebook, experimental design, laboratory equipment, technique, and safety, communicating results and understanding (written lab reports), and technology as a scientific tool.
