Math 7 (2 periods per day)
The mathematics department has adopted a program which has been developed by Carnegie Learning to meet the requirements of the Keystone exam. This program replaced Saxon Math for 6th grade to Algebra 2 math classes in the district. The transition started in the 2013-2014 academic year and will continue to roll forward until full implementation is realized in the following years. Carnegie Math is an integrated series which includes Course1,2,3; Bridge Algebra,Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry. The courses are hybrid combination of classwork with a focus on cooperative learning and problem solving skills and computer time to develop fundamental skills through individual practice. The classes will be divided roughly 60-40 for class/computer time.

Course 1
The Carnegie Learning Math Series Course 2 is all new and written specifically for the Common Core State Standards. This course contains complete alignment, coverage, and support for the Standards for Mathematical Content and Practice. Course 1 focuses on developing number sense; comparing quantities using rations, rates, and percents; algebraic thinking geometry; and statistical thinking.

Course 2
The Carnegie Learning Math Series Course 2 is all new and written specifically for the Common Core State Standards. This course contains complete alignment, coverage, and support for the Standards for Mathematical Content and Practice. Course 2 focuses on proportional reasoning, developing number sense, algebraic thinking, geometry, and statistical thinking and probability.

Course 3
The Carnegie Learning Course 3 is all new and written specifically for the Common Core State Standards. This course contains complete alignment, coverage, and support for the Standards for Mathematical Content and Practice. Course 3 focuses on algebraic thinking, geometry, and statistical thinking and probability, and revisits algebraic thinking and geometry.

Math 7 5/4
This course is designed to develop and/or maintain math skills in the areas of numbers and operations, measurement, geometry, algebra, problem solving, mathematical reasoning, statistics, data analysis and probability. This course is designed in a manner that allows for the content to be introduced, practiced and then assessed following every fifth lesson. Students are expected to complete daily homework assignments and maintain a notebook that is able to be used on homework assignments and tests. Curriculum for this class is based off the Saxon Math program.

*All math classes cover the Pennsylvania Academic Standards of Mathematics.
