Reading 7 This course covers the Pennsylvania Core Standards for Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, specifically standards 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.
The goal of instruction is to help students understand what they read. Students will learn effective reading strategies that will help them utilize the text to increase comprehension. Independent reading is stressed throughout the year. Weekly reading goals are set and a reading log is collected each Friday.
Assessment is based on a combination of journal activities, tests, homework, projects, and classwork.
